Ariel (The Little Mermaid) Vs. Elsa (Frozen)

                                 Ariel Vs. Elsa

“Who says that my DREAMS have to STAY JUST MY DREAMS?”

                                         – Ariel (The Little Mermaid)

“I belong here… alone, where I can be who I am and not HURT anybody.”

                                                 – Elsa (Frozen)

When we are a kid we just always want to be a princess. We want a prince charming who can save us and will always there when we are in need. Disney Princesses shows that they are dependent on their prince charming. On the other hand, Disney princesses always shows us a determination, compassion, ambition, and fearlessness.

Ariel and Elsa both involved in transformation. Ariel wants to be a human so that she made a contract with Ursula the witch. She sacrificed her good voice and give it to Ursula in exchanged for her, to be a human. On the other hand, Elsa make a big transformation. Back then she feared that her power and ability is horrible so she concealed it and now that the world knows her power she already let it go and make herself in isolation. They are both brave and tough enough to face the consequences in their life. Ariel is the Little Mermaid who had a crush  in man that she saved while Elsa had a powerful ability that she fear and she restricted herself to not hurt others.

“When’s it my turn? Wouldn’t I love, live to explore that shore above? Out of the sea Wish I could be Part of the World.”

Ariel is a bright, spirited, and headstrong mermaid and have a strong passion for adventure and exploration. Ariel is such a kind mermaid, when she did wrong she always takes a full responsibility of it. Ariel have a strong obsession to be part of the human world.

“A kingdom of isolation and looks like I’m the Queen.”

Elsa is an orphaned unlike Ariel that have everything. She was abused and feared and she always repressing her emotions. She was afraid that she can hurt everyone by her uncontrolled power. And as time goes on “It’s to see what I can do To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I am free”, she learned how to embrace her true self. She find her powers and by that she nearly killed her own sister and her town experience an endless winter, she didn’t control herself. “ The wind is howling Like swirling storm inside Couldn’t keep it in, Heaven knows I’ve tried”, although it went wrong at least she tried.

In many ways, Ariel and Elsa are both spirited and determined in their life. They pursue what they want and they are ready to face the consequences of what they have done.
